Noah Milo

Noah Milo (b. 2001) is a fashion designer, filmmaker, and painter based in Calgary, Alberta, currently attending AU Arts. Born in Saskatoon and raised in Cairo, Milo built his artistic practice after running away from home at 17. Making a start working and living out of a 300 sq. ft. studio in Edmonton’s industrial area. In the following years, he traveled between studios in Edmonton, continuously refining his voice and engaging with societal issues that resonate deeply with his personal journey. He explores themes of fairness and equity within late-stage capitalism, while also delving into his family history in Canada. With a diverse lineage of immigrants, settlers, and slaves, Milo examines the complexities of his ancestry and the lasting effects of colonization. Through oil paint and mixed media, he seeks to illuminate these narratives, inviting viewers to reflect on the intersections of identity and history.
