Intersections
The INTERSECTIONS initiative is an arts placemaking project by Salingpusa Creatives, a Calgary-based arts non-profit. The initiative is funded by the City of Calgary through its Downtown-in-Motion Grant Program.
INTERSECTIONS refers to the venue of the project, sitting at the junction where 1st Street SW and 6th Avenue SW meet, as well as the convergence of visual art, music, pop culture, literature, wellness, languages, life skills, and other arts adjacent offerings that will be delivered to the downtown public.

The initiative will run from September 15, 2026 to March 15, 2027, and will consist of programming meant to draw people from the surrounding offices buildings and Plus-15s:
- Lunchbreak arts lessons and performances
- Revolving public art installations
- Virtual fortune cookies
- Downtown photography excursions
- Book clubs
- Various workshops
INTERSECTIONS will bring art, culture, delight, whimsy, lyricism, curated learning experiences and Calgary-love to downtown denizens in the middle of the day, in the middle of downtown!
