Mangyan Maiden

Mangyan Maiden by Max Tabora

whispers/bulong

by Julie Alati-it

Sino ang nagbulong sa iyo noon?
Whisps of breeze sway the murmurs of sound
Glowing light of the morning and night sways gently
As the light softens, Pakudos catches the light
Like a beacon, what you are seeking is not here
A deflection, go towards the stream, there is no road*
Kadto sa suba, payimay kablitan*

Close your eyes, can you hear the fading memories?
Does your heart tell you which way to go
Listen closer, hold your breathe, be still
Sounds, like droplets of water falling gently to the ground
meeting the soil, flowing like ripples of reflection
Now sun faded, paglubog ng araw
Did you hear it? Is this hope? Listen!
Mahinhin
As a quiet heart beating, 1000 ancestors away
Let it in
sumuko
