For my submission, Elder Kapre, I was inspired by the Filipino flag, as the colour palette and some imagery reflect the flag. For direct inspiration, I was inspired by the stories I was told of Filipino folklore and the stories of causal living in the Philippines from my relatives. Being born in Canada, I long to connect on the culture and heritage. I attempted to display the intensity and action of the stories I was told that I imagine in my head when being told these stories.

My name is Liam Bolo Lardizabal. I am fifteen years old and am in tenth grade, studying at Notre Dame High School.
In ninth grade, I was Featured on The Calgary Catholic School District 29th annual district artwalk. I was also featured in The Living Gallery at The HCMY New York. In both of the exhibits, I submitted the piece “willing prisoner of adrenaline”.
