  • Agimat (amulet) Making Workshop – Artist Ryle Ramirez will teach you how to craft your personal agimat (also called anting-anting) which you can take home.
  • Baybayin Bingo – Learn our precolonial alphabet through an exciting game of Bingo combined with Scavenger Hunt.
  • Abakada ng Lagim – Filipino-inspired adult spelling bee that brings together fun, friendly competition, and cultural pride.
  • Alaala Ng Alamat (Art exhibit) – Artworks on Filipino folklore, created by Calgary-based Filipino Artists!
  • Bazaar – Treat yourself to chocolates, bayong, accessories, books, and assorted bric-a-bracs from Calgary’s Filipino merchants.

The AswangCon Showpiece:
Kapre Quest

In this interactive folklore exhibit set within The Grand’s Studio ballroom, Kapre is MIA (Missing in Aswangville) and you will help Maria Makiling find the stinky trickster.

You’ll be walking through a set designed and fabricated by Calgary artist Day Pajarillo, playing a role in a script by writer Cecilia Ortiz Luna and directed by Chromatic Theater’s Kodie Rollan. Don’t miss this chance at a unique, fun, and immersive way to experience the magic of Filipino folklore.

Starts at 12:30 PM, with three time slots every hour and 12 participants each performance. Pre-event ticket pricing at $12, event day pricing at $15. There are limited slots so buy your tickets now!
